The Mauá Group, an education group focused on the personal and professional development of members of business families in Brazil, was in our office for the second meeting of the lecture series, where we addressed the topic of “MA in family businesses”.
In the lecture, our partner Luiz Gustavo Mesquita and Carmen Sfeir Jacir, Board Member and Corporate Governance Consultant, discussed the challenges of MA transactions for family businesses, highlighting the importance of family governance and conflict resolution mechanisms. They also addressed the essential role of soft skills, such as active listening and mediation to ensure the success and continuity of family businesses.
